Spring Break 07: New York

So Nick, Stephen, and I went to New York for spring break.... Here is a quick synopsis of how it went:

DAY 1
1. Bus to D.C. Chinatown
2. Eat sushi at Wok and Roll
3. Super shady 2:00 a.m. Chinatown Bus (only $35 round trip!) to NY-sat next to the worst smelling bathroom in the world and a fun group of transvestites
4. Arrive at NY Chinatown at 7:00 a.m.
5. Have breakfast in Times Square
6. Visit Natural History Museum
7. Eat lunch at pretty much the spiciest Mexican place ever, Gonzolez
8. Walk along Central Park to Riverside Studios Hotel (very clean and cheap)
9. Nap until 6:00 p.m. for dinner
10. Dinner at chicken and rice stand near Rockerfeller Center (so good) and Cheesecake at Libby's

























DAY 2
1. Get lost finding Magnolia, the cupcake place
2. Find Magnolia
3. Eat at Serendipity (AMAAAAZING frozen hot chocolate; Stephen has his most expensive hamburger ever) and meet with Nick's super cool college friend Amanda
4. Head to the candy shop before going to the Met (turns out, it's closed on Mondays)
5. Go to the Guggenheim instead to see Picasso, Dali, Miro, and a guy who paints very large women in very large dresses
6. Snack at Cafe 21
7. Nick and Amanda head back to the hotel where they finish off half a bottle of SoCo, while Stephen and I meet up with my high school friend Emily
8. Eat at a New Orleans bar that has strong hurricanes, great food, and Bingo for Booze (free round of shots for each table that wins bingo)!!!
9. Meet with drunk Nick and Amanda (pictured) and head to Mexican bar for a pitcher of margerita
10. Amanda leaves (first day at a new job) and Nick, Stephen, and I stand outside of a high-end bar called "Butter" to heckle/make fun of people standing in line trying to get in... turns out, they're all guys
11. Meet up with Nick's ex-girlfriend Amita to go to Down the Hatch
12. At Down the Hatch, find out how snobby and annoying Amita is (not pictured)
13. Encounter fake Irish guys who demonstrate their ability to light their mouth on fire and convince both Nick and Stephen to do the same
14. Stephen burns his mouth and some of his face
15. Nick hits hard on Amita
16. Stephen and I leave Nick and Amita to do their thing
17. Phone call from Nick's phone (Amita) to pick up Nick outside the hotel
18. Nick refuses to be helpful in any way while we try to help him into bed
19. Nick calls out "I'm going to be sick," but ignores the bag shoved into his face, turns his head to the side, and throws up these orange gummy worm things





















Day 3
1. Nick wakes up to a voicemail: "You.. you.. you text messaged me at 3 a.m.!!! What is wrong with you?????"
2. Nick checks phone to find that Stephen used it to text Amita's cell and work, but Amita's cell number has changed and instead, this stranger has received the message: You smell like poo.
3. Get the most amazing hot dog in the world at Gray's Papaya
4. Eat brunch at a great breakfast place in the Bronx next to Nick's old Westham University
5. Go to the Bronx zoo where most animals aren't even out because it's cold
6. Pick up canolis and pastries/dessert in Little Italy
7. Have dinner at the most AWESOME, cheap pizza place right behind the school (their pizza, chicken roll, and garlic knots are tremendous) and meet up with his cooler ex-girlfriend
8. Chinatown bus home, this time not next to the bathroom and completely exhausted
9. Get home to have Will yell at us for coming in so late, I also think I see an army knife in his hand
